Ownership & Factuality
How we think about news source quality, ownership transparency, and factual accuracy.
Last updated: March 1, 2026
Our Philosophy
A47 News aggregates articles from external news outlets. We do not publish original reporting, but we are deeply invested in the quality of the sources we surface. A news aggregator that links to low-quality or deceptive sources does its readers a disservice regardless of how good its interface is.
We maintain a curated source list. Every outlet on our platform has been reviewed by our editorial team. We assess sources against two dimensions: factual track record and ownership transparency.
Factuality Standards
We define factuality as the consistent publishing of information that is grounded in verifiable evidence. Outlets on A47 News are expected to:
- Issue corrections when factual errors are identified
- Distinguish clearly between news reporting and opinion or analysis
- Attribute claims to named or otherwise identifiable sources
- Not knowingly publish fabricated or heavily distorted information
Sources with a documented pattern of publishing inaccuracies without correction are removed from our index. We review our source list on a rolling basis and respond to user-reported concerns.
Ownership Transparency
News audiences deserve to know who owns the outlets they read. Ownership can influence editorial priorities, even when individual journalists act in good faith. We make ownership information available where it is publicly known.
For each source in our index, we note:
- The parent company or individual owner (if publicly disclosed)
- Country of incorporation or primary operation
- Any known state funding or affiliation
We do not make judgements about whether a particular ownership structure makes a source untrustworthy. We provide the information and let readers form their own conclusions.
What We Do Not Do
A47 News does not assign political labels, left/right ratings, or partisan scores to any news source. We believe such classifications are subjective, context-dependent, and often more misleading than informative.
We focus instead on verifiable, structural information: how many sources are covering a story, how fast it is moving, and where in the world those sources are based.
Reporting a Concern
If you believe a source on A47 News has published demonstrably false information, or if you have information about source ownership that contradicts what we have displayed, please contact our editorial team at editorial@a47.news.
We investigate all credible reports and aim to respond within five business days.
