Baltimore Ravens Finalize Trade for Jacoby Brissett After Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley Injuries
What happened
The Baltimore Ravens finalized a trade on November 4, 2026, to acquire veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals after injuries sidelined Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley.
The Context
* A double-injury crunch forced Baltimore's hand: Lamar Jackson suffered a thumb injury requiring surgery directly after missing three games with an ankle issue, while backup Tyler Huntley exited for the season with turf toe. * The depth chart reached zero margin: Sitting at 4-4 and last in the AFC North, the front office had to tap undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano for Week 9 before Brissett could complete onboarding. * Familiarity accelerates operational onboarding: Brissett arrives on a one-year contract with $15.5 million guaranteed, bringing 11 seasons of league experience and an existing working relationship with Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfolk.
The Number
— The passing yards Brissett generated across eight starts for Arizona in 2026, demonstrating reliable mid-level output (10 touchdowns against seven interceptions) that maintains a competitive baseline rather than gambling on unproven talent.
Takeaway
Brissett is slated to assume starting duties against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10, buying Baltimore the operational runway needed to navigate Jackson's recovery timeline.
