Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum Begin Natural Gas Supplies to Iraq's Ministry of Electricity

Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have initiated the supply of 100 MMscf/d of natural gas to Iraq's Ministry of Electricity. This delivery is part of a broader strategy to enhance electricity generation in Kirkuk, particularly following the expansion of the Khor Mor gas processing facility. The supply agreement is set for an initial term of one year, marking a significant development in Iraq's energy landscape.

The gas is sourced from the Khor Mor field located in the Kurdistan Region, which is vital for electricity generation in the area. The Khor Mor gas project currently provides fuel for over 80% of the electricity consumed in the Kurdistan Region. The Khor Mor gas project has recently undergone a significant expansion, increasing its production capacity by 50% to 750 MMscf/d. This expansion has attracted over $4 billion in investments and has created more than 47,000 direct and indirect jobs.
