Trump Offers White House Press Secretary Role to UFC CEO Dana White Following Rapid Vacancy Turnover
What happened
On November 7, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly offered UFC CEO Dana White the position of White House press secretary via Truth Social following rapid turnover in the role.
The Context
* A vacant podium: The role opened on October 16, 2026, after previous press secretary Katie Zacharia departed following just five days on the job and a single press briefing. * A 20-year alliance: The proposal draws on a two-decade personal and political relationship between Trump and White, with the president floating names of mixed martial arts champions to serve as briefing assistants. * Pending confirmation: While White signaled interest on social media with an image at the briefing podium captioned "On to the next chapter," neither side has issued a formal administrative confirmation.
The Number
— The number of days Katie Zacharia served as press secretary before stepping down, highlighting extreme leadership volatility at the highest level of global state communications.
